GEXIM DONATES TOWARDS FARMERS DAY


Ghana EXIM Bank on Tuesday, 21st November 2023, donated an LS plus 80 tractor and its accessories worth GH 711,580 to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture as part of its contribution towards the successful organization of the upcoming 39th National Famers Day celebration in Tarkwa, in the Western Region with a theme ‘’Delivering Smart Solutions for Sustainable Food Security and Resilience

Presenting a key and the tractor with its accessories at a brief ceremony at the forecourt of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in Accra, Mr. Bright Evans Darko, Head of SME in Ghana Exim Bank said the Board and Management of the bank were delighted and fulfilled to have made such a donation to recognize and reward hardworking farmers and fishermen’s in the country.

 

By dint of hard work, farmers and fishermen deserve mere national recognition at this period in our national life to enable them to contribute meaningfully to the nation’s economy.

According to Bright Darko, the bank through its predecessor in EDIF and EDAIF, had consistently donated the second prize to symbolize her unalloyed support to the farmers who produce to feed the nation and more importantly, provide raw materials for factories.

He therefore pledged the banks' continuous support to the national programme and wished all the winners well.

Receiving the tractor on behalf of the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Hon. Yaw Frimpong Addo , Deputy Minister in charge of crops, thanked Management of Ghana Exim Bank for their continuous support and donation towards the day's celebration.

He said the value of the donation symbolizes the due recognition and respect that the Bank attaches to the farmers and fishermen. He hoped this support would continue for the benefit of the farmers and fishermen.
